Google Debuts First Overseas Store in Tokyo's Omotesando
Google has opened its first directly run store outside the United States in Tokyo's Omotesando fashionable district. The store, which sells smartphones and offers repair services, is larger than any of Google's existing 10 retail outlets in the US.
The two-story building, with one basement level, features an artificial intelligence-powered tool on its second floor that allows visitors to create avatars and design virtual spaces.
'Japan is a highly critical market,' said Mauria Finley, vice president of Google Store.
