Google Dials Up Gemini Capabilities with Virtual Closet
Google continues to expand Gemini's capabilities with two new AI features that push the assistant further into users' daily lives. The first feature, Call for Me, allows Gemini to phone businesses on a user's behalf and handle conversations while the user follows a live transcript.
The tool is launching as an experiment for U.S. Pixel 11 owners with a Gemini subscription who use the beta version of Google's Phone app for Android. Unlike earlier AI calling tools, Call for Me enables Gemini to share personal information approved by the user, allowing it to perform a broader range of actions.
Separately, Google Photos has made its AI-powered virtual closet available to all iOS and Android users in the U.S., Brazil, and India. The tool builds a copy of a user's wardrobe from items worn in their photos, letting them filter by category and mix and match outfits.
