Google Ditches Paid Subscription for Gemini Daily Brief
Google has removed the paid subscription requirement for its Gemini Daily Brief feature, making it available to all users in the US without charge. Previously, this AI-powered tool was only accessible with a Google AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra subscription.
The Daily Brief provides a summary of your calendar, unread inbox priorities, and daily tasks before you start your morning routine. It acts as an automated morning dashboard across your Google ecosystem, connecting the dots between your connected Workspace services.
To access it, users need to enable Workspace Extensions in their Gemini Settings and turn on Memory to allow Gemini to surface relevant information accurately. They can then ask Gemini for their daily brief or look for the proactive briefing card on their home screen.
This move indicates that Google wants Daily Brief to become a daily touchpoint for millions of Android, web, and Chromebook users. The feature is also gaining substantial depth behind the scenes, with signs pointing to an audio playback option and direct surface of briefings on the Android lock screen.
