Google Eases Restrictions on Personalized Alcohol Ads on YouTube
Google is changing its policy on personalized alcohol advertising on YouTube, allowing marketers to use targeted ads for alcoholic beverages and related products starting October 30.
The move marks a shift from Google's previous policy, which included alcohol in sensitive interest categories with restrictions on personalized advertising.
Under the updated policy, advertisers will be able to personalize ads across YouTube inventory, including ads for alcoholic beverages, alcohol-related products, and alternatives. However, age restrictions remain in place, and personalized ads cannot be targeted to minors.
Google's existing rules still apply, requiring ads to comply with local laws and regulations, as well as prohibiting personalized targeting based on health information related to alcohol.
