Google Enters Item Tracking Market with Pixel Tag

Google has announced its entry into the item tracking market with the launch of Pixel Tag, a first-party device designed to help users locate their misplaced belongings. The Pixel Tag uses Google's Find Hub network, which comprises over one billion Android devices, to securely locate items.

The tag itself is an oblong lump made of stainless steel, resistant to flexing and cracking, and IP67 water- and dust-resistant. It features a built-in speaker that can play a sound to help locate the item, as well as a button to ring and find the user's phone in reverse.

The Pixel Tag is available for pre-order starting November 11, 2026, with a price tag of UK £29/US$29 for a single unit or UK £99/US$99 for a four-pack. Google emphasizes that its device is designed to be user-serviceable, allowing users to replace the battery without having to discard the entire tag.

Google's Pixel Tag integrates seamlessly with Android devices running version 9 or newer and uses Fast Pair technology to establish a connection. The Find Hub app allows users to name their items, share them with up to 10 people, and receive alerts when an item is left behind.
