Google Expands Free AI Video Creation Tool to Anyone with Google Account
Google has expanded its free AI video creation tool, Google Vids, to anyone with a Google or Google Workspace account. The tool allows users to generate new AI video scenes in full 1080p HD and upscale existing AI clips without professional editing skills. New controls powered by the Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash model let users extend scenes while maintaining visual context, lighting, and character consistency.
The tool can be used for various purposes, including launching products, creating promotional videos, and community announcements. Users can choose the exact duration of generated clips to align with their story and voiceover. Google also mentioned that it will soon offer natural-sounding voiceovers in more than 100 languages through its Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite text-to-speech feature.
The tool includes an imperceptible digital watermark embedded into video frames, allowing viewers to verify that content was generated with AI. This move is part of Google's efforts to increase transparency and accountability in AI-generated content.
