Google Expands Google Photos Features to More Users Worldwide
Google has expanded its recent updates to Google Photos to more users worldwide. The Redact tool, which allows users to blur sensitive information in photos using three styles - Mosaic, Mosaic Light, and Blur - is now globally available on Android devices.
The feature was first spotted in July, but it wasn't until recently that it became accessible to all users. The upgraded markup tool with the redact pen lets users adjust the pen thickness to accurately cover areas large and small.
In addition to the Redact tool, the Moods feature is also now available globally on Android devices. With Moods, users can quickly apply vintage-inspired looks to their photos using AI. Several presets are available, including filters that give photos a 2000s cinema aesthetic, a digicam look, and more.
Other features, such as AI Wardrobe in Google Photos, which automatically identifies clothing items from your pictures and creates a digital closet, are now available to eligible users in the US, India, and Brazil. The Video Remix feature, which uses Gemini Omni to make AI-powered edits and lighting adjustments to videos, is also available to Android and iOS users in select countries.
