Google Faces $3.2 Billion in Damages Over Ad-Tech Monopoly Allegations
A US federal judge has ruled that Alphabet Inc.'s Google must face $3.2 billion in damages for its alleged monopolization of ad-tech markets.
The ruling, issued by US District Judge P. Kevin Castel in Manhattan, will allow a class of large publishers to proceed with jury trials to determine the extent of Google's harm to major publishers through its AdX advertising exchange.
The decision comes after a lengthy legal battle between Google and the group of publishers, including USA Today Co., Daily Mail General, and Trust Plc.
