Google Fitbit Edge Leak Reveals Design and Features
Google's upcoming Fitbit Edge fitness tracker has been leaked, revealing a design that blends elements from the Fitbit Charge line and Pixel Watch. The tracker features an oval screen positioned close to the outer edge, displaying time, date, heart rate, step count, and workout controls. It includes buttons on both sides and a sensor stack similar to the Fitbit Air, with metal strips resembling those used for ECG readings on the Charge 6.
The Fitbit Edge is expected to run its own software rather than Wear OS, offering basic features like Bluetooth connectivity, notifications, and a few apps such as Google Maps and YouTube Music. Fitness tracking includes built-in GPS, an altimeter, and exercise recognition, with a claimed battery life of up to seven days.
Color options for the Edge include Obsidian, Olive, and Canyon, with the Olive featuring a two-toned frame and the Canyon showcasing a gold accent. Pricing is speculated to range between $149 and $199, positioning it between the $99 screenless Fitbit Air and the $399 Pixel Watch 5. The tracker appears compatible with both Android and iPhones via the Google Health app.
Google has yet to officially confirm the release or pricing details, but the leak suggests a potential launch before the holiday season.
