Google Fixes Major Bug Exposing Private Texts in Messages App
Google has fixed a major bug in its Messages app that exposed private texts to unintended recipients.
The issue, which affected some users who transferred their messages to a new device, caused old texts from unrelated conversations to surface in new chats. In some cases, the resurfaced messages were even sent to the wrong people.
Google acknowledged the problem and confirmed that it is rolling out a fix to all affected users over the coming weeks.
The bug, which appeared to particularly affect Pixel and Samsung Galaxy users, could expose sensitive information such as personal conversations, verification codes, and other private data.
