Google Health Fixes Cardio Load Gap for Multi-Device Fitness Trackers

Google Health has fixed an issue for Garmin users where workouts were not being counted towards Cardio Load. This meant that even though workouts would show up in Google Health, the Cardio Load calculation was incorrect. The update, version 5.09, is now rolling out and should address this problem.

The fix requires heart-rate data to sync across with the session, which should not be a hurdle for Garmin and Apple Watch users. However, it's worth noting that Google Health will only use workout information from third-party wearables to calculate Cardio Load, not their own training metrics or scores.

This update is significant because it allows users to train with whatever watch they like and still have an accurate Cardio Load calculation. For those who split their fitness tracking between multiple devices, this means that their workouts will now be counted correctly.
