Google Health Widget Falls Short: Users Flock to Vital Widgets
Oluwaniyi Raji, a tech content specialist, recently upgraded his Fitbit app to Google Health 5.0 and was disappointed by its home screen widget. The widget showed only six metrics from the Today tab, with no trend lines or sleep stage breakdowns.
Raji replaced the widget with Vital Widgets, which offers more comprehensive data and customization options. The Vital Widgets app allows users to add multiple widgets for different fitness metrics, such as steps, heart rate, recovery, sleep, calories, and vitals.
Vital Widgets also provides a transparency slider that adjusts the opacity of each widget, allowing users to customize their home screen appearance. Additionally, the app follows Material You dynamic color, ensuring it changes with the user's wallpaper and system themes.
