Google Hides Visible Watermarks on Gemini Chatbot Creations
Google has started rolling out an option to hide visible watermarks on media content created with its Gemini chatbot. This includes images, videos, and music creations, which will still have invisible SynthID watermarks and C2PA metadata to identify them as AI-generated.
The new feature is available now in the standalone Gemini app, Google Flow apps, and will soon be coming to the Google Search app. In the Gemini app, users can turn off visible watermarks by going to Settings > Media watermark, with the exception of countries where it's required by law to keep them.
Josh Woodward, VP of Google Labs, Gemini, & AI Studio, explained that users will still be able to check if any media content was created with Gemini or Google Search by asking 'Is this AI-generated?' in both apps.
