Google Home bug blocks smart light color changes for users

A widespread issue is currently affecting Google Home users, preventing them from changing the color of their smart lights. Reports from a growing thread on the Google Home subreddit indicate that users are unable to adjust the color of various brands of connected smart lights through the Google Home app or via voice commands.

The problem seems to be limited to color changes, as users can still adjust brightness and turn the lights on or off. However, changing the color only works when using each bulb’s respective apps, not through Google Home.

The issue was highlighted by Andrew Liszewski in a post on The Verge, which noted the growing number of complaints from affected users. As of now, there is no official statement from Google regarding the cause or a potential fix for the problem.
