Google Home Fails to Recognize Users, Causes Command Issues
Google Home users are reporting that their devices are struggling to reliably identify who's speaking, leading to issues with commands and personal requests. This problem has been a recurring issue for some time, but Google has acknowledged it and is working on improving Voice Match quality.
The issue can cause problems when trying to add items to shopping lists or when sending personal requests. Users have reported having to repeat commands multiple times before their devices would accept them, and in some cases, the device would identify them as another person in the household.
Google has recommended retraining Voice Match through the Google Home app for a more immediate solution. However, this workaround may not be ideal as it requires turning off Voice Match and enabling personal results instead, which can potentially allow others to access personal information.
