Google has awarded $4.5 million to the City of Vernon in Texas as part of its $10 million commitment to support community water infrastructure and access projects across the state.

The funding will be used to replace an aging water pipeline, helping to prevent water loss and supporting the resilience of the local utility.

Vernon Mayor Pam Gosline said that Google's investment is not just in the city's infrastructure but also in its economic growth, future opportunities, and residents' quality of life.

This partnership is part of Google's broader commitment to responsibly manage water resources in the communities where it builds and operates data centers, both in Texas and globally. Globally, Google has 165 water stewardship projects across 97 watersheds.
