Google Lays Off 52 Employees in Washington State
According to a recent Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) issued on August 5, Google laid off 52 people working in Kirkland, Redmond, and Seattle. The Washington State Employment Security Department received a WARN for an organization in these locations. This notification is required by law when an employer plans to lay off at least 50 employees within a 30-day period.
The layoffs were not unexpected, as Google has been undergoing restructuring efforts to cut costs and streamline its operations. However, the exact number of affected employees was not publicly disclosed until now.
