Google Links Continuous Glucose Data with AI-Powered Health Coaching Tools

Abbott and Google are joining forces to link continuous glucose monitoring data from Abbott's Lingo device with Google's AI-powered health coaching tools. This integration will allow users of the Gemini-powered service, known as Google Health Coach, to access a new source of personal health information.

The agreement will enable users to view glucose trends alongside metrics related to activity, sleep, and other wellness data in the Google Health app. The Lingo device is an over-the-counter continuous glucose monitor designed for adults aged 18 and older who do not use insulin. It tracks glucose levels throughout the day and provides insights on how factors such as food, movement, and daily activities correspond with changes in glucose.

The integration of Lingo data into Google Health Coach will provide users with personalized recommendations covering nutrition, activity, sleep, and recovery. To access this feature, users must have a Google Health Premium subscription. The AI-powered coach is not intended for medical purposes and warns that its responses can be inaccurate or incomplete.
