Google Links Google Wallet with Gemini for Personalized Financial Insights

Google has integrated its Google Wallet service with Gemini, an AI chatbot that provides financial advice and insights. This integration allows users to link their Google Wallet account to Gemini, enabling the AI to analyze transaction data from financial accounts connected through services like Plaid.

Once connected, users can ask Gemini questions about their spending habits, such as 'Show me my airline loyalty numbers' or 'How much did I spend on groceries last month?' The chatbot will provide responses based on the linked transaction data. Users can also enable budgeting tips and receive notifications about available rewards and special offers.

Google has chosen a gradual rollout for this feature, so it may not be available to everyone yet. To connect Google Wallet to Gemini, users need to be 18 or older, sign in to the Gemini app or website with a personal Google account, and enable the Keep Activity setting.

In related news, Google will begin transferring all Gems to Skills on November 17. Gems are custom versions of Gemini that can act as experts on specific topics, while Skills allow users to create reusable sets of instructions for future interactions with Gemini.
