Google Loosens Rules on Wine and Alcohol Advertising Across Global Platforms
Google is relaxing its rules for advertising wine and alcohol on its platforms. On September 30, the company will introduce revised global guidelines that allow for more targeted ads.
From October 30, YouTube users in certain countries can expect to see personalized ads for alcoholic beverages, provided they comply with local laws. This change is part of a broader effort by Google Ads to expand its reach into new markets.
In July 2026, Google expanded the list of countries where advertising for and information about alcoholic beverages is permitted. Twenty-nine new countries have been added, including Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Finland, and South Korea.
