Google Maps Now Lets You Change Your Car's Icon Directly from the In-Car Display
Google is pushing an update for Google Maps on Android Auto that will allow users to change their car's icon, known as a 'drivatar,' directly from the in-car display. This feature was previously only available by changing it within the Google Maps app on a phone.
The blue arrow has traditionally represented a vehicle on Google Maps, but users can now customize this icon to better suit their mood or preferences. The update is rolling out now and will make it easier for drivers to change their car's representation without having to reach for their phone.
This latest update follows other recent changes to Android Auto, including the addition of speedometer and speed limit signs, as well as immersive navigation features that allow users to view maps in a more detailed and interactive way. However, these new features are not universally available yet and may take some time to roll out to all regions.
