Google Maps on Android Auto Gets Long-Overdue Customization Feature
Google Maps has finally updated its Android Auto app to include a customization feature that allows users to change their vehicle icons. This feature was first introduced on phones but took a long time to make its way to Android Auto.
In contrast, Waze, another navigation app owned by Google, has been offering more advanced customization options for years, including limited-edition designs and partnerships with various organizations. However, the new update brings these features directly to the infotainment screens in cars running on Android Auto.
This is a small but welcome improvement for users who want to personalize their navigation experience. The update also includes other new features, such as a speedometer, which was recently added to Google Maps on Android Auto.
