Google Maps Renames Lake Ontario for US Users Amid US-Canada Trade War

Those in Canada will still see Lake Ontario, which has been its name since the 17th century. Apple's Maps app does not appear to have made any changes, with 'Lake America' not mentioned on its maps.

The decision follows a trade war between the US and Canada, with both countries slapping tariffs on each other. Ford warned that a trade war would harm both countries, but be particularly devastating for the United States as it relies heavily on Canadian imports.
