Google Maps Saves Parking Spots With New Feature

For years, drivers have struggled to remember where they parked their vehicles after circling around blocks in search of a spot. A recent solution has been implemented by Google Maps, which allows users to mark their parking location and save it for future reference.

The feature is accessible on both Android and iOS devices. To use it, tap the blue dot indicating your current location, scroll through the top bar, and select 'Save parking.' This will create a new pin with a 'P' label, signifying where you parked.

On iPhone and iPad devices, an additional feature is available that automatically marks a parking spot when connected to the vehicle via USB, Bluetooth, or CarPlay. To activate this feature, go to settings and ensure location services are enabled for Google Maps. The app will then detect your parking location and save it for 48 hours.

This update aims to alleviate the frustration of searching for lost cars in crowded areas, particularly at airports or popular restaurants. Users can access their saved parking locations through the listing tab, where they can also clear the pin, change their location, share it with others, or set a timer to remind them when to return.
