Google Maps Tries Its Hand at Agentic Ordering, But Falls Short
Google Maps has rolled out an update to its 'Ask Maps' feature, which now includes agentic capabilities that can help users order food and find hotels and events.
The new features are part of a broader Ask Maps update that also brings live transit information and personalization through Google's 'Personal Intelligence.'
Users can ask Ask Maps to find restaurants with specific dishes, dietary requirements, and locations, and the app will then provide options for them to choose from.
However, it's worth noting that Ask Maps still requires users to manually review and approve their orders before they are placed.
