Google Marks 28th Anniversary with Nostalgic Doodle

Google marked its 28th anniversary on Sunday with a colourful doodle on its homepage. The doodle takes users down memory lane by featuring an early version of Google's iconic logo.

The company's story began in 1995 at Stanford University, where Larry Page was considering attending graduate school. Sergey Brin, a student there, was assigned to show him around and the two soon started working together on a research project that would lay the foundation for Google.

Google attracted attention from investors in Silicon Valley, with Sun Microsystems co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim writing a cheque for $100,000 to Page and Brin in August 1998. This marked the official birth of Google Inc.
