Google May Bring Customized My Pixel Icons to Older Pixels

Google is reportedly considering expanding its customized My Pixel app icon feature to older Pixel phones. This comes after the company introduced color-matched icons for the Pixel 11 series, which adapt to the phone's body color.

The update was spotted in version 8.9.1 of the My Pixel app, where some Pixel 9 models showed signs of receiving the customized icon treatment. However, not all Pixel 9 models are included, with the Pixel 9a and Pixel 9 Pro Fold seemingly absent from the list.

Additionally, Google is also working on a design update for the My Pixel app icon, which may change to a lighter shade of blue and feature a white Google logo for better visibility. This tweak could be rolled out to all users, regardless of their device model.
