Google Meet Cuts Through Meeting Notes with New Quick Summary Feature

Google has introduced a new feature in Google Meet called Quick notes, which aims to simplify note-taking and save users from reading through lengthy meeting transcripts. This feature is an extension of Google's existing AI-powered Take notes for me tool, which uses Gemini to automatically capture meeting discussions and create notes in Google Docs.

The new Quick notes feature provides a concise summary of the most important parts of a conversation, focusing on key action items, outcomes, and talking points. According to Google, this summary will be limited to a single page, making it easier for users to quickly understand what happened during a meeting. This feature is now rolling out to supported Google Workspace editions, including Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and Frontline Plus.

The Quick notes section has become the default tab in the automatically generated Google Docs file. Users can switch to the Full notes tab if they need more detail or context. The feature is also available to users with Google AI Pro and Ultra plans, although it may take some time for everyone to have access.
