Google Messages RCS Media Sending Issues Return
Google Messages users are once again facing issues with sending media files over Rich Communication Services (RCS). Reports from the Google Messages and Pixel communities on Reddit highlight that the app is failing to send media or, in some cases, sending all files at once after a delay. One user with a Pixel 10 Pro Fold noted that the problem persists for two to four days at a time, often requiring a hard reset to temporarily fix the issue.
The problem appears to be tied to RCS functionality within Google Messages. Users have reported difficulties sending not only photos and videos but also links. Troubleshooting efforts, including multiple hard resets, have not provided a lasting solution. The issue mirrors a similar problem from last year when Google Messages struggled with media delivery in RCS chats.
Google has acknowledged the bug and is working on a fix, according to a statement provided to Android Authority. The company confirmed that a subset of Google Messages users is experiencing disrupted RCS message delivery. While a fix is reportedly rolling out, it may take a couple of weeks before the issue is fully resolved.
The current problem brings back memories of another RCS-related issue earlier this year, where Samsung Galaxy users faced widespread RCS chat failures after using Smart Switch. Google has a history of addressing such issues promptly, so users can hope for a swift resolution.
