Google Messages Users Reject New Business Chat Feature
Google Messages is rolling out a new feature that's not necessarily a crowd-pleaser. The business chat feature will send users text messages about new features and app updates, but a recent poll suggests many users are opposed to this idea.
A survey of over 1,800 Android Authority readers found that 52.3% of respondents were against the 'unnecessary bloat' it might entail. Only 20.6% considered it a promising addition, while 27.1% were more forgiving and willing to give it a chance based on how it's implemented.
The feature is intended to highlight additions to the experience that some users might not notice, but some commenters have expressed concerns about the lack of feedback or reply options. TopCop72 pointed out that this type of AI-generated message can 'bloat the whole experience up' unless the updates are truly significant.
