Google Offers Educators Nationwide Chance to Earn College Credits in AI Training
Google has launched an AI education program for educators nationwide, offering them the chance to earn college and continuing education credits through its AI Educator Series.
The initiative marks the company's most aggressive push yet to embed artificial intelligence training directly into teacher professional development.
A recent survey by the Education Week Research Center found that 51% of educators want more AI training, yet only 18% feel confident using these tools with students.
Google's credit-bearing courses cover everything from basic AI concepts to hands-on experience with Google's educational AI tools, teaching participants how to use AI for lesson planning, student assessment, and personalized learning.
The program has already shown promising results in early pilot programs, with teachers reporting 73% more confidence in using AI tools and being twice as likely to implement AI-assisted projects in their classrooms.
