Google Overhauls Pinned Chats in Android Messages App

Google is working on significant changes to its Messages app, specifically for pinned chats. The overhaul includes new features such as animated typing indicators and preview images, videos, and GIFs sent by contacts.

The app will display a waveform with a play button for audio files and an animated GIF preview for GIFs. Unsupported file types will be represented by a generic attachment icon. Additionally, pinned chats may soon allow users to select multiple contacts at once to pin or unpin them simultaneously.

These changes are still under development and have not been released publicly yet. However, they seem like improvements that could make the app easier and more enjoyable to use.
