Google Photos Introduces Redact Pen to Hide Sensitive Details

Google Photos has introduced a new tool called Redact that allows users to hide sensitive details in images. This feature is part of an update that also includes five other changes to the app, such as Moods filters and new Remix templates.

The Redact pen is located inside the Markup tool, which is used for editing images. With this new addition, users can paint over areas they don't want to share, such as license plates or account numbers, and it will turn into a pixelated block. There are three hiding styles available: Mosaic, Mosaic Light, and Blur.

This update also includes precise thickness sliders for pens and highlighters, as well as new fonts for text. Additionally, Wardrobe, an AI-powered clothing catalogue, is now available to eligible Android and iOS users in the US, India, and Brazil.
