Google Photos Lets You Hide Screenshots from Your Main Feed
Google Photos users can now clean up their main feed by hiding screenshots and screen recordings. The feature, hidden in the settings, allows users to customize what appears in the Photos view, making it easier to separate actual photos and videos from captured screens.
On devices like Samsung Galaxy phones, screenshots are often mixed into the main Camera folder, while Pixel devices have a dedicated Screenshots folder. Despite this difference, the customization feature works across all devices. Users can find the setting by navigating to Google Photos Settings > Preferences > Photos view > Customize by app.
Once in the Customize by app menu, users can choose to 'Show all,' 'Hide clutter,' or 'Hide all' screenshots and screen recordings. The 'Hide clutter' option is particularly useful as it only hides screenshots that are backed up, keeping the main feed tidy without losing access to the screenshots.
This feature is beneficial for users who prefer to keep their main feed for photos and videos only, while still maintaining cloud backups of their screenshots. It addresses a common annoyance of having screenshots clutter the main feed, making Google Photos a more organized and efficient gallery app.
