Google Photos Tests Uniform Feed Option for Android Users

Google Photos users on Android may soon get a feature that iPhone users have enjoyed for a while - the ability to turn off enlarged thumbnails and have a uniform feed. The 'Feature photos' toggle was discovered in a teardown of Google Photos version 7.92.0 by the Android Authority team, who successfully activated it inside the app's display settings.

When switched on, Google Photos automatically enlarges select thumbnails to highlight what its algorithm considers notable moments. However, users can turn off this feature and have all photos and videos displayed at the same size. This setting will also apply to Day and Month views, although it won't alter the standard Comfortable layout mode.

The feature is currently being tested on Android, but given that it's already available on iOS, it's likely that Android users won't have to wait too long before getting access to a symmetrical photo feed. The new toggle gives users direct control over the visual structure of their home feed and allows them to balance automatic highlights with layout control.
