Google Pixel 11 Pro Owners Prefer Camera Flash Over HiLight

The Google Pixel 11 Pro's most notable feature is its RGB LED at the back, part of the HiLight notification system. However, some users may find it too dim to catch their attention.

Instead, a simpler solution already exists on the phone: using the camera flash as a notification light.

Dhruv Bhutani, an experienced tech journalist, prefers this approach over HiLight because it is more visible and doesn't require configuration. He finds that the camera flash effectively alerts him to incoming notifications without being too obtrusive.

The setup process for using the camera flash as a notification light is straightforward: go to Settings > Notifications > Flash Notifications and choose 'Camera Flash' or 'Screen Flash'. Bhutani prefers the former, which blinks the rear camera LED when a notification arrives.
