Google Pixel Watch 5 Leaked Ahead of August Launch
Google's Pixel Watch 5 has been leaked just days before its official launch on August 12. The new smartwatch will retain the same design as its predecessor, but with some notable upgrades.
The price of the Pixel Watch 5 starts at $399 for the 41mm model with Wi-Fi connectivity, a $50 increase from the previous generation. However, it's worth noting that this puts the cheapest Pixel Watch 5 at the same price as a base Apple Watch Series 11.
Under the hood, the Watch 5 runs on the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip, which Google has dubbed the 'Accelerated' variant. While the core processor remains the same as in the previous generation, the memory has been bumped up from 2GB to 3GB of RAM and storage doubled from 32GB to 64GB.
The battery capacity also gets a slight bump, but the quoted battery life remains the same at 30 hours for the 41mm model and 40 hours for the 45mm model. Google is betting that its new smartwatch will be more about AI capabilities than raw speed. The on-device AI system, called Gemini Intelligence, handles tasks like building shopping lists from photos and summarizing notifications.
