Google Pixel Watch 5 Review: Fitness Insights, Sleep Monitoring, and Smartwatch Features
The Google Pixel Watch 5 is the latest smartwatch from Google, and it's been put to the test by Woman & Home's digital health editor. The watch boasts new fitness insights, sleep monitoring, AI integration, and smartwatch features that make it an all-singing, all-dancing digital companion for every part of life.
One of the standout features is Google Health, which provides a more comprehensive approach to health tracking. With Premium subscription, users can create a workout plan based on their goal using Gemini, and receive tailored workouts to follow. The watch's GPS tracking has also improved, with double the accuracy in urban environments.
The sleep tracking features have been enhanced, providing insights into breathing patterns during the night, including a new metric called Sleep Breathing Quality. This feature flags breathing disturbances and creates a monthly overview of patterns that can be shared with doctors.
Despite its impressive features, the watch's battery life is a concern, lasting up to 30 hours with typical use and always-on display, and up to 48 hours in Battery Saver Mode. The editor notes that while it's not good enough, the battery life shouldn't deter potential buyers from considering this device.
