Google Pixels Locked Out After September Update

Reports have surfaced of several Google Pixel owners experiencing issues with their devices after installing the September update. Specifically, some users are finding that they cannot access their phones despite entering their correct pattern or PIN code.

The problem seems to be isolated to a select few models, including the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 8a, and Pixel 8 Pro. In most cases, the device will turn on normally but refuse to recognize the unlock sequence, leaving users locked out of their phones.

One user who experienced this issue reported that their pattern disappeared when connecting the second dot, while another had their PIN rejected from the first digit. The issue is not limited to forgetful users, as devices are still booting normally and local data remains present.

While some users have resorted to factory resetting their phones, Google has yet to acknowledge the problem or provide a solution. In the meantime, owners of affected devices are advised to keep an updated backup and verify that essential data is synced or stored elsewhere.
