Google Play Services v26.39 enhances Android Automotive and Find Hub features
Google has released Google Play Services v26.39, primarily targeting developers but also introducing a few user-facing features. The update includes OEM Design Tokens, allowing car manufacturers to customize the color themes of Google apps on Android Automotive. Additionally, the update adds support for card art and payment network logos in card tokenization prompt notifications, enhancing the user experience for digital payments.
Another notable addition is the ability to quickly access Find Hub tag details or identify lost tags by tapping them with an NFC-enabled phone. This feature aims to simplify the management of Find Hub network tags, including setting categories, renaming tags, and configuring features like Left-Behind Reminders directly during the initial setup.
The update also includes various bug fixes and maintenance changes for developer services, particularly for Google Maps-related processes. Users can now view terms and attribution by tapping the info icon next to the Google Maps logo, providing more transparency and control over their data.
Additionally, Google Play Store v53.5 introduces AI-generated image labels in India and a feature to track global influence, including total views and helpfulness votes on reviews. Android System Intelligence B.29 / C.7 also received updates, focusing on bug fixes and maintenance changes.
