Google has increased the price of its Pixel 10a smartphone to $599, up from its original price of $499. This move follows a trend of rising phone prices due to ongoing memory chip shortages affecting consumer electronics.

The Pixel 10a is positioned as a budget option and runs on Google's two-year-old Tensor G4 chip. In contrast, the premium Pixel 11 family uses Google's latest processor and offers significantly stronger specs and camera performance.

Other phone manufacturers are also experiencing price hikes due to memory chip shortages. Samsung Electronics Co. recently lifted prices on most Galaxy S26 models by $100, while Apple has increased prices on certain older iPhones as well.
