Google Recorder App Now Allows Sharing with Other Apps

The Google Recorder app has been updated to allow Pixel users to share recordings with other apps. The 'Allow recordings in other apps' toggle is now enabled by default and allows users to access their existing audio files through a folder named Recordings in the file manager app of their choice.

This feature was first discovered last week, but it's only now rolling out to Pixel devices. The update brings version 4.2.20260823 of the Recorder app, which enables the toggle within the app's settings page.

The toggle can be turned off if users prefer not to share their recordings with other apps. Existing recordings are automatically saved to a folder named Recordings as soon as this update is live.
