Google Rehires AI Expert as Cloud Division Hits 21% Revenue Milestone

Alphabet's Google Cloud division is rapidly expanding, accounting for approximately 20.7% of Alphabet's latest quarterly revenue of $119.8 billion. This growth can be attributed in part to the 82% increase in Google Cloud revenue itself, which reached roughly $24.8 billion.

The company has taken steps to bolster its artificial intelligence (AI) research capabilities by rehiring Barret Zoph, co-founder of Thinking Machines Lab and a former six-year veteran of Google Brain. Zoph's return to DeepMind is seen as a strong move, given his deep model-research experience and familiarity with the Google ecosystem.

However, investors should not get too caught up in résumé worship. The real value lies in whether DeepMind can convert this talent into better models, stronger products, and cloud workloads that customers will actually pay for. As it stands, Alphabet's stock price is $336.595, with a 34.14% premium above its GF Value of $250.92.
