Google Revokes Credits from Advertisers After Initial Spending

Google Ads has been offering credits to new and existing customers to encourage spending on its advertising platform. However, in some cases, Google will revoke a credit after it's already been spent by the advertiser.

David Melamed, a PPC consultant, experienced this issue twice over a short period. He explained that advertisers are initially lured with 'generous' credits to spend thousands of dollars within the platform, only for Google to invalidate the credit afterwards.

Melamed described this practice as 'pure theft,' stating that there's no way for advertisers to appeal invalidated credits once they've been spent. He also pointed out that many advertisers wouldn't have spent the initial amount if not for the promised credit.

Ginny Marvin, Google Ads Liaison, acknowledged the issue and passed it along to her team. However, Melamed emphasized that this is a widespread problem and called on Google to stop these practices or provide a way for advertisers to appeal invalidated credits.
