Google rolls out Android 17 October update with key fixes for Pixel devices
Google has started rolling out the October 2026 security patch for Android 17, covering a wide range of Pixel devices. This update follows the September QPR1 update and includes fixes for 28 security issues, as outlined in the Android 17 October patch dated 2026-10-01. Additionally, Google has addressed six more security vulnerabilities specific to Pixel devices.
The update is available for all Pixel models from the Pixel 6 series up to the Pixel 11 series, including variants like the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, and various foldable models. Each device has a specific build number associated with the update, such as CP3A.261005.002.A1 for the Pixel 6 series and CD1A.261005.003 for the Pixel 11 series.
The update includes three key fixes: a resolution for the virtual keyboard not appearing in search input fields, a fix for audio noise or distortion during VoIP calls, and a correction for photos or videos being saved in the wrong orientation. These fixes are specific to certain Pixel models, as indicated in the changelog.
The update is part of Google's ongoing effort to enhance security and user experience across its Pixel lineup. As always, users are encouraged to install the update as soon as it becomes available on their devices.
