Google Rolls Out Cart Transfer For Merchants Using Universal Commerce Protocol
Google has rolled out cart transfer and expanded checkout testing in its Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) for merchants using the Merchant Center hub.
The new feature allows shoppers to move items from Google to a merchant's own site to complete their purchase, addressing concerns raised by retailers about losing sales when transactions occur on Google platforms.
Cart transfer is now available in the U.S. and will be gradually introduced in Australia and Canada early next year, according to Ashish Gupta, VP and GM of Merchant Shopping at Google.
