Google Rolls Out Free AI Video Generation for Personal Accounts

Google has introduced free AI video generation for users with personal Google accounts and Google Workspace subscribers. The feature, called Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, allows users to create high-definition videos without professional editing skills or a large budget.

The update includes controls for extending scenes, setting clip durations, and creating 1080p video. Users can extend scenes while preserving lighting, settings, and character appearances, and set specific clip durations.

Google says clips generated with Omni 1.1 in Vids include an imperceptible SynthID watermark that can help identify them as AI-generated. The free tier offers a way to try short video projects before paying for more capacity.
