Google Rolls Out Google Pics Image Creation Tool for AI Pro and Ultra Subscribers

Google has rolled out its new image creation and editing tool, Google Pics, to all Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and most Workspace business customers. The tool is built on the Nano Banana image model and allows users to generate images from text prompts within Docs, Slides, Drive, and a standalone app.

Unlike traditional AI image generators, Google Pics lives directly inside the documents being edited, making it easier for users to create and edit images without having to switch between apps. The tool is available on both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, with some Workspace admins experiencing delays in accessing Pics due to their domain's rollout track.

The pricing for Google Pics varies depending on the subscription tier, with Google AI Pro ($19.99/month) and Ultra ($99.99-$199.99/month) offering access to the tool. For Workspace customers, pricing is bundled into existing Business Standard, Business Plus, or Enterprise contracts with Gemini add-on licensing.

Google Pics has several features that set it apart from other AI image tools, including object-based editing and batch image generation for slide decks using Google Apps Script and the Gemini API. The tool also includes a troubleshooting guide and advanced tips for power users.
