Google Rolls Out Local Customer Optimization to Performance Max Campaigns
Google is introducing Local Customer Optimization to Performance Max campaigns, allowing advertisers to bid on users who are already near a physical location or showing interest in one. This feature is rolling out globally soon and requires a separate Performance Max campaign with offline goals for retailers using Merchant Center feeds.
Retailers with feed-based Performance Max campaigns cannot switch on Local Customer Optimization inside those campaigns, as the setting is not compatible with online campaign goals or campaigns advertising products from linked Merchant Center accounts. To use this feature, advertisers need to create a separate Performance Max campaign aimed solely at offline goals.
Additionally, Google is bringing Store Sales into Google Ads Data Manager, allowing eligible advertisers to connect their sales data and measure store sales alongside ad interactions. This integration aims to reduce the technical work involved in keeping connections running.
