Google Scrubs Desktop Search Results of Follow Button

Google has quietly removed the 'Follow' button from its desktop search results page. The button, which allowed users to quickly follow a Search profile for an individual or brand, is still visible on mobile search results pages.

The change was first spotted by Damien Andell, who shared his findings on X. According to Andell, Google has removed the Follow button from desktop Knowledge panels, but it remains available on mobile devices.

A screenshot of Lily Ray's search results page shows that the 'Search profile' button is no longer present on desktop, while a corresponding mobile search results page still displays the Follow button.
